On Easter Sunday, the water heater in a rental house I own let go and flooded the basement. It took until almost 6:00 PM to secure a replacement water heater (the one that failed was under 100% warranty) but I still had to get it installed.
I called one of the Big Boys for whom I paid a $50.00 service estimate call only to be told the cost to install MY water heater would be almost $900. Yes, install only, not sell me their brand. I declined.
This morning I called Scott Plumbing and spoke with Matt at 9:00 AM. He was on the job at 11:30 AM and I got the job done for 1/3rd the price quoted to me by The Big Boy plumbing company.
Don’t get me wrong. They don’t do cheap work. They do quality work and are fully licensed and bonded and insured. They charge a fair price instead of a price gouging price.
Hats off to Matt and Scott Plumbing Company in Woodstock. A first class job done by a company who proves that bigger is not always better.

After trying to fix my leaking garbage disposal myself, I went to Kudzu to find a well-rated plumber. Read good ratings on Scott Plumbing Service, sent an email and got a response along with his pricing. Matt arrived on time for the appointment, pronounced the bad news and replaced the disposal at the price he quoted. For some reason, and as it turns out due to no relation to the disposal work, the faucet began malfunctioning. Matt returned, replaced some parts and because he couldn’t fix the faucet didn’t charge us! We’re getting ready to redo the kitchen, so we’re leaving the faulty faucet in place for a few weeks, but when we get ready to do the work, Matt’s our man. He now occupies the prestigious real estate in my smartphone as Plumber Matt. Highly recommend this fine young man.
